Cody's

Today I ate lunch at Cody's Original Roadhouse with colleagues as an end of the school year celebration. Cody's is your typical southern style roadhouse. The atmosphere is fun, the portions are generous and throwing your peanut shells on the floor (and at each other) is quite liberating after a stressful school year. I had Cody's Roadhouse Salad and a cup of their Snowbowl award winning Chili. The salad veggies were fresh and tasty. The homemade Garlic Ranch dressing was predictably delightful. The Chili came topped with shredded cheddar cheese, it was yummy and spicy. We (my family) frequently visit Cody's and are rarely dissapointed. My husband's favorite meal is the Prime Rib served medium rare with a side of fries. Dinner entrees are served with a family style version of the Roadhouse salad and our family favorite, yeast rolls with cinnamon butter.

Family Friendly Factor: **** (4 out of 5 stars)
Cody's has a very family friendly atmosphere. What kid doesn't like eating peanuts out of the shell and throwing the shells on the floor (you don't get to do that at our house)? And how could I forget the arcade games? Super fun for kids and a life saver for parents during the wait. The kid's menu has a satisfactory variety and all kid's entrees are under $4.00. They also serve kid's drinks in fun Cody's Kids cups with a cover and straw (another parent life saver).

Bottomline: If you are looking for a resonably priced casual dining experience Cody's is the place for you.

Introduction

I've been threatening to start this blog for a while now. I live with my husband, beautiful little girl and our two dogs in Mid-Coast Maine. Mid-Coast Maine is the region of the Maine coast stretching from Bath/Brunswick to Belfast (give or take a few miles). There is certainly no shortage of things to do. Depending on the season you can comb gorgeous beaches, ski, hike and enjoy fabulous views of the Atlantic Ocean. Most of these offerings are family friendly but the degree of "friendliness" varies. If you're wondering about the Mid-Coast you might find this blog helpful.
